It has been a fairly difficult two years for the airline industry. 2014 was an extremely unfortunate year for Malaysian Airlines with the mysterious disappearance of MH370 and the downing of MH17 over the Ukraine, whilst last year saw an unfortunate act of terror linked to ISIS forcing Russia to respond with firepower. Leaving these tragic events in our wake, it is time to focus on the positive aspect of flying by revealing the Worlds Safest Airlines.

There is no doubt that air travel remains the safest mode of transport around. The pilots who get us to our destinations safely are highly trained professionals who have undertaken years of study, training and experience in handling technologically advanced aircraft in any situation that may arise. They are constantly at the top of lists of the most trusted professions along with Doctors and Firefighters. Highly skilled individuals who are responsible for hundreds of lives everyday.

So, who are the Worlds Safest Airlines? Well, at the top of the list is a perennial contender. Australia’s very own QANTAS. As the oldest airline in the English speaking World and, one of the oldest overall, QANTAS has an enviable record of never having a recorded fatality during an incident. Whilst they have recorded a couple of serious incidents, they have managed to get through it safely through highly trained flight crew handling the situation impeccably.
