Leeds Castle

Leeds Castle

The Journey Pro photo of the week for this week is Leeds Castle in Kent, United Kingdom. Situated near Maidstone in the South-East of England, the Castle in its current form was built in the 19th century although, a castle has been on the same site since 1119AD. Henry VIII even used it as a residence for his wife in the 16th Century.

A must see when in the area around Maidstone, or anywhere in Kent County for that matter, the castle features gorgeous stately rooms which have been preserved to the finest detail and is set amongst some breathtaking, sprawling  gardens, complete with free roaming peacocks who will probably greet you on arrival in the car park as they did with us!
